About The Position

Wheat State Manor is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Charge Nurse RN/LPN to join our team. Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while working with a dedicated and supportive team. At Wheat State Manor, our nursing team plays an important role in providing quality care, promoting resident well-being, and creating a safe and positive environment for those we serve. The Charge Nurse RN/LPN is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents, coordinating resident care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with established standards, physician orders, and facility policies. The Charge Nurse serves as a key member of the Wheat State Manor healthcare team and helps ensure effective communication among residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Current and valid RN or LPN license in the state of Kansas.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to nursing staff.
  • Dependable, organized, and committed to providing high-quality resident care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nursing experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or similar healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assess residents and monitor changes in condition, promptly communicating concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered and in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policies.
  • Supervise and provide direction to CNAs and other nursing staff during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure resident care is completed accurately, timely, and according to established standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and nursing records.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition.
  • Participate in care planning and contribute to the development and implementation of individualized resident care plans.
  • Provide leadership and support to nursing staff while promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Wheat State Manor policies and procedures.
  • Promote dignity, respect, privacy, and quality of life for every resident.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
