About The Position
Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This PRN position involves working night shifts (7p-7a) with weekend and holiday requirements. The Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients per day. The Charge Nurse is expected to model these behaviors consistently.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred)
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting (Required)
- 2 Years Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting (Preferred)
- 2 Years Experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course 6 Months OR ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care Nurse 6 Months
- A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
