About The Position

EXP is seeking a Project Manager for their Building and Industry Structure team. This role involves managing projects from planning to delivery for a diverse clientele across various sectors including educational, municipal, institutional, commercial, public, and private. The Project Manager will act as a technical and strategic pillar, coordinating teams, ensuring quality, and client satisfaction. This position is ideal for a professional looking to make a significant impact with their expertise in a team known for its rigor, collaboration, and quality work. The role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between remote work and in-office presence at either the Montreal or Longueuil office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (building engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent).
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering.
  • Strong skills in building structure design, with a high capacity for analysis, synthesis, and understanding of complex concepts.
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills, enabling effective mobilization of multidisciplinary teams and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong orientation towards action, results, and problem-solving in dynamic and demanding environments, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Natural leadership, proactivity, and initiative, consistent with EXP's entrepreneurial culture, combined with significant autonomy, a developed sense of priorities, professional rigor, and a strong team spirit for collective success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure complete management of mandates from planning to delivery.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Maintain proactive and structured communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Effectively coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and propose optimized solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction and contribute to business development.
  • Plan and lead meetings (kick-off, coordination, follow-up).
  • Supervise the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Analyze submissions and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure coordination and review of shop drawings.
  • Conduct site visits and monitor progress.
  • Manage change orders, directives, and financial impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with costs, schedules, quality, and contractual obligations.
  • Design, validate, and supervise technical deliverables.
  • Review and approve plans, specifications, and studies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes.
  • Contribute to talent development (mentoring, technical coaching).
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of practices and standards.
