About The Position

Waterville TG is currently looking for an Automation Project Manager to support its engineering activities and contribute to the optimization of its industrial processes and the performance of its operations. Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions, participating in the programming and integration of industrial systems (PLC, robotics, operator interfaces), diagnosing and resolving production issues, and contributing to various continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing productivity, reliability, and safety of equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Office suite.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in automation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate bilingualism (communication with international suppliers and colleagues in Ontario).
  • Proficiency in automation systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of industrial robotics (ABB, Yaskawa, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Ignition SCADA software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in machine safety and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions for production equipment.
  • Participate in the programming, integration, and commissioning of automated systems (PLC, HMI interfaces, robots, and vision systems).
  • Analyze existing processes and propose improvements to increase their efficiency, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Contribute to the execution of automation projects, from needs analysis to solution implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with machine safety standards and adherence to internal procedures and standards.
  • Participate in risk analyses and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive actions.
  • Provide technical support during troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement activities in the plant.
