About The Position

Assist in the day-to-day activities in the Charcuterie Department. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling product selection and packaging, maintaining special orders and party trays, stocking and rotating products, operating department equipment, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The position also requires adherence to all store rules, company policies, safety guidelines, and health guidelines, as well as knowledge of Weight & Measure Laws.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old or older.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
No computer skills required.
Food Handler Certification.
Regularly required to stand and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Frequently walk, talk, or hear, and reach with the hands and arms.
Occasionally crouch or kneel.
Occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds and frequently exert or lift negligible amounts of weight.
Specific vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus including possessing sufficient visual acuity to verify invoices and other written documents.
Able to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racks and storage.
Able to sweep and mop floor and lift and carry out trash containers to be emptied in an outside bin.
Sufficient physical mobility or agility to be able to respond quickly to fire or other emergencies such as cleanup requests due to accidental spills or breakage of glass.
Able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents such as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties.
Sufficient memory retention skills to memorize weekly ad prices and memo items.

Responsibilities

Providing premier customer service, including greeting customers and responding to questions.
Selecting and packaging products ordered by customers.
Filling, maintaining special orders and party trays.
Stocking product, rotating product and marking product.
Operating meat and cheese slicers, oven, cutting tools and other equipment in department.
Assisting with food preparation.
Sweeping and mopping floors as well as emptying trash.
Assisting with sanitation process.
Observing all store rules and company policies.
Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observing company dress regulations.
Following safety guidelines when working, especially when lifting, using cutting tools, large machinery, ladders, stretch and take breaks when performing repetitive motions, etc.
Following health guidelines to ensure safe product is provided to our customers.
Knowledge of Weight & Measure Laws.
