About The Position

Active Minds is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the culture around mental health. The Active Minds Internship Program is designed for current college students and recent college graduates. Interns play a crucial role in supporting the organization's initiatives and projects, gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector, and contributing to the mission of making mental health as highly valued as physical health. The Fall 2026 internships are remote, with an anticipated start date of Monday, September 14th, 2026, and an end date of Friday, December 4th, 2026. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with a consistent schedule between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday, and commit to the entire semester. Interns are paid $18 per hour.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or have previously attended, a U.S. based college or university.
  • Able to complete a work authorization (I-9) during onboarding.
  • Able to complete the entirety of the internship program during the listed dates.
  • Interest in mental health and uplifting young adult voices.
  • Strong written and communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Student leadership or student mentorship experience.
  • Flexible team player, motivated collaborator.
  • Openness and willingness to learn new tasks for special projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Zoom, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, and CRM Tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the national Active Minds Chapter Network by managing communications from and to the student network.
  • Create resources for student leaders.
  • Assist with programmatic and mobilization efforts for the Chapters Network.
  • Manage information received from chapters across the US and Canada.
  • Create educational content and resources for student leaders.
  • Manage various chapter online platforms and communications.
  • Support students from brainstorming to developing and promoting chapters on campuses.
  • Provide programmatic support for the Chapters Network.
  • Assist with virtual meeting and event planning/execution.
  • Handle external student communications.
  • Perform data entry maintenance within the CRM tool, Salesforce.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with broader Programs departments, such as Research and Development, K-12 Initiatives, Marketing and Communications, and community initiatives.
