The Hospice Chaplain (Spiritual Counselor) provides spiritual counseling services as a core hospice service in accordance with the Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation (42 CFR §418.64). The Chaplain is a member of the hospice interdisciplinary group (IDG) and is responsible for assessing and addressing the spiritual needs of hospice patients and families related to the terminal illness, promoting patient well‑being, comfort, and dignity throughout the dying process.
