About The Position

Provides spiritual guidance and support to in-house patients. Provides pastoral ministry; performs or arranges for religious services to meet the needs of patients and their families. Provides assistance to contracted staff and visiting clergy.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, or a related field
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy
Knowledge of counseling and clinical pastoral care, including training in human development and behavior, spirituality and religious practices common to the community
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals, agencies, patients and members of the clergy

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Divinity or Theology
Endorsement by a recognized religious body or authority
Bilingual ability

Responsibilities

Provide spiritual care and counseling to individuals and groups
Conduct religious services, ceremonies, and rites according to faith traditions
Offer emotional support and guidance in times of crisis or grief
Facilitate religious education programs and study groups
Develop and implement spiritual care plans tailored to individual needs
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care
Visit patients, inmates, or service members in their respective settings
Maintain confidential records of spiritual care interactions
Advise on ethical and moral issues within the institution
Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions
Provide support to families during illness, trauma, or loss
Ensure all religious practices and services comply with organizational policies and procedures
