Chaplain (Full Time) $22/hour
About The Position
Providence Place of Dover is seeking a Full Time Chaplain to faithfully implement and support the mission of Providence Place Spiritual Life Services. Providence Place is dedicated to promoting spiritual well-being among all residents by affirming life in relationship with God and people in their daily lives. The organization adopts a broad and inclusive approach to spiritual care, emphasizing each individual’s “spirituality” and addressing common spiritual needs while respecting diverse religious traditions. Chaplains contribute to this vision by focusing on three key areas: Pastoral Care, Religious Life and Services, and Spiritual Life Groups.
Requirements
- Licensed and/or ordained by their faith group/denomination to administer communion and perform full pastoral duties (for solo and lead pastors).
- Proven record of practicing an ecumenical approach to ministry with other clergy, churches, groups.
- Professional and/or personal experience ministering to the elderly, gerontology, dementia and coursework in these areas.
- Pastoral ministry in a parish setting, in long-term pastorates which included older congregants and/or Chaplaincy in Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing and/or Dementia units.
- Practices private and corporate devotional life of prayer, worship, study, fellowship, and service; foundational part of applicant’s life.
Nice To Haves
- Seminary/College degree in ministry or other accredited training in ministry (preferably an M. Div.) for solo chaplains and chaplains who will play a more senior role on the campus.
- Bible College degree or other college degree with additional specialized ministry training for chaplains playing a secondary role on the campus.
- Specialized training and/or certification from a recognized religious denomination or organization.
- Training and/or experience in professional chaplaincy such as Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), pastoral counseling or similar formal coursework and practicum experience.
