The chaplain provides spiritual counsel, comfort, and pastoral ministry to meet the spiritual needs of patients and families. This individual offers a pastoral perspective when consulting with staff, patients, and families regarding ethical, moral, or personal issues. The chaplain is skilled in crisis and bereavement counseling and actively participates in interdisciplinary patient care teams, promoting a healing environment that enhances spiritual and mental health for both patients and staff. Duties include providing sacraments/rituals from various faith traditions as requested. The role may involve training to become an Independent Living Donor Advocate (ILDA) and serving in an advance care planning role. The chaplain must demonstrate cultural knowledge and understanding of growth and development across the lifespan, with the ability to assess and interpret patient data relative to age-specific needs. Additionally, the chaplain supports leadership through staff development, teaching, community involvement, and research participation. Availability for flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, with on-call duties, is required. The selection process may include an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview.
