About The Position

These roles provide essential assistance to healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Ensure the smooth functioning of clinical operations by handling tasks that support the diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural aspects of patient care. Allied Health - Health Services professionals work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services. These roles are responsible for providing emotional and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. Chaplains and other spiritual support staff offer counseling, religious services, and emotional support, helping individuals navigate the challenges of illness, hospitalization, or end-of-life care. Individual contributors with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Spends majority of time leading the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University). Established and productive individual contributor. Works independently with general to limited supervision. Problems faced are difficult and may be complex. May influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures. May have project management responsibilities on small, less-complex projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in theology or equivalent from an accredited institution recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Completion of four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE) – preferably as certified by one of the following: the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE); National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne des Soins Spirituels (CASC/ACSS), or the Spiritual Care Association.
  • Ecclesiastical endorsement by an organization recognized by the United States Department of Defense (Armed Forces Chaplains Board) or the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Board Certified, Provisionally Board Certified, or Board Eligible Chaplain preferably by one of the following: Association of Professional Chaplains (APC); National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC); The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne des Soins Spirituels (CASC/ACSS), or the Spiritual Care Association.
  • Achieve full or provisional Board Certification within 24 months of hire if not Board Certified on hire.
  • Maintain board certification for continuing employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE); National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne des Soins Spirituels (CASC/ACSS), or the Spiritual Care Association for CPE.

Benefits

  • The starting base rate for this role is $26.23 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
