About The Position
The PRN Hospital Chaplain provides spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, volunteers, and staff in a healthcare environment. The role calls for a compassionate and empathetic individual who can support people while respecting the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of those served. This is an as-needed position requiring flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; a degree in theology is preferred.
- Verification of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an accredited Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) center.
- One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Current letter of endorsement from the applicant’s faith group.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and spiritual care skills.
- Strong technology and teamwork skills.
- Willingness, according to experience level, to be mentored by a more experienced chaplain.
- Willingness to work with diverse populations.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of ministerial experience.
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
