About The Position

At Bayer, we are seeking a Channel Field Sales Representative IV to achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with squad-mates. This role is responsible for the successful delivery of squad goals through supporting others' role responsibilities. The representative will persuade and coach others to achieve targets, develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory management, and product line demand issues. They will set business direction and coordinate follow-ups with dealers to drive business results. This position serves as a trusted advisor to retailers and dealers, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products and demonstrating proof of product performance against the competition. The role requires collaboration with squad-mates including Field Sales Reps (FSR), Sales Agronomists (SA), Technical Agronomists (TA), and Digital Enablement Leads (DEL), as well as Technology Development Representatives (TDR) to maximize services, information, and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts. The representative will actively manage inventory concerns as appropriate to ensure business objectives are met, gather, assimilate, and analyze market and competitive information, and develop strategies for achieving long and short business plans for key accounts and assigned areas. They will proactively share learnings and best practices within and across squads, effectively manage expenses, discretionary dollars, and program payments to enable top and bottom line growth. The role involves independent work to continuously expand selling skills and product/portfolio knowledge, ensuring achievement of program execution and fulfillment, including national/regional marketing initiatives, and actively using metrics to ensure program success. The representative will take a leadership role in partnering with squad-mate FSRs/SAs and manage the relationship with top growers and retailers, acting as the business expert for top growers and retailers while planning for customer business needs. They will proactively mentor and coach earlier-in-career FSRs and educate and consult with internal stakeholders on Commercial products, strategies, and plans. The role also includes managing area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy and process through effective problem-solving, execution, administration, and resource management. This position requires approximately 60% travel with significant daily face-to-face customer interaction.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated product, portfolio and agronomic knowledge preferred.

  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise.

  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment.

  • Position requires driving for the company, possibly under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, involving safe hauling of trailers, products, supplies, or equipment.

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years experience in sales, marketing, account management or agriculture OR other education level and 20+ years listed experience.

Responsibilities
