Changeover Laborer
About The Position
Under direction, set-up and take down meeting rooms, ballrooms, exhibit halls and arena for various events. This role involves participating in room set-ups and strikes, including chairs, tables, risers/stages, stanchions, podiums, and other equipment/furniture. It also includes building concert stages, installing hockey dashers, glass, and related equipment, as well as installing ice for related events (both indoors and outdoors as needed). The position requires performing work in a safe manner, operating walkie-talkie radio devices, and assisting with snow and ice removal around the facility and the outdoor skating rink, including the safe use of snow blowers. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to use hand and small power tools when both safely and effectively
- Ability to listen and follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand room set-up floor plans to complete tasks effectively
- Always present a neat and groomed appearance and demeanor during the workday
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends, mid-shifts, early mornings and holidays, as needed
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must have professional attitude and appearance
- Must be at least 18 years old
- lifting at least 65 lbs. without assistance
- walking and standing for most of the assigned shifts
- bending and stooping at times
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with similar functions desirable
- Licensed and Qualified forklift/platform lift operations desirable
Responsibilities
- Participates in room set-ups and strikes, including but not limited to chairs, tables, risers/stages, stanchions, podiums and other equipment/furniture, etc.

- Installs ice for related events (both indoors and outdoors as needed)
- Always perform work in a safe manner , notifying the Supervisor immediately of any accidents/incidents and any problems or damagers to facility or equipment
- Operate walkie-talkie radio devices when
- Assist as needed/ to clear snow & ice from around the facility & the outdoor skating rink if/when needed (ability to safely & effectively use snow blowers when doing these tasks)
