Requirements

  • Goal: Improve overall process and system efficiency of assigned lined or area.
  • Objectives: Plan and execute RIEs at a determined pace.
  • Objectives: Meet impact and improvement targets for RIEs such as cycle time, lead time, delivery, quality, and safety.
  • Objectives: Increase DME maturity in assigned area of responsibly by percentage aligned with one-year glidepath in assigned line or area.
  • Goal: Achieve on-time execution of transformation activities and sustainment through follow-up checkpoints.
  • Objectives: Meet LRP 1-year glidepath improvement targets for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Objectives: Utilize Gemba activities to provide adequate coaching, feedback and accountability engraining and/or changing behavior aligned to lean principles.
  • Objectives: Ensure countermeasures for assigned RIEs deliver expected results and sustain over a 6-month period.
  • Goal: Promote a culture for continuous improvement and development of people.
  • Objectives: Partner with production supervisors and leaders in area of responsibility to teach the 6 foundational competencies, coach the self-assessment and calibration process, and assist in the creation of associated actions plans.
  • Objectives: Support improvement of radar charts within area of scope.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production supervisors and production leaders in transforming their line or area, as well as sustaining improvements through the implementation of tiered management systems.
  • Address future improvement needs at a line or area within their assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Support and enable the development and optimization of capable process and standardization of improvements through Daily Management Excellence (DME).
  • Lead the planning and execution of rapid improvement events (RIEs) at a determined pace, meeting impact and improvement targets.
  • Support conducting transformation processes inclusive of scoping, training and pre-work, value stream analysis and assessment, creation of breakthrough future state vision, and execution of associated activities.
  • Coach, teach, and utilize rapid improvement event standard work to ensure high levels of engagement and collaboration from RIE leaders and team members during pre-work, event week and post-work.
  • Drive high-quality problem solving and sustainment of improvement efforts through effective execution at mission control.
  • Enable sustainment of transformation efforts through the development of systems and effective tiered management.
  • Engrain all aspects of the BOS to enable and facilitate cross-functional collaboration improving safety, quality, delivery, etc.
  • Translate strategy (GDP, LRP, PGT) into action within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Utilize, coach and teach the 6 foundational competencies to build capability across assigned area of responsibility.
  • Foster culture change by supporting the development of systems that drive behavior aligned to lean principles.
  • Visibly lead to highlight focus and accountability to improvement activities.
