The Chancellor of Public Schools provides executive leadership for the Division of Public Schools and performs duties delegated by the Senior Chancellor and Commissioner of Education consistent with the authority of the State Board of Education and Florida law. The Chancellor provides leadership and direction to the Deputy Chancellor of Educator Quality, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Improvement, Vice Chancellor for Literacy Achievement and other division leaders. The Chancellor must exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, meet critical deadlines and maintain effective performance in a fast-paced environment. The Chancellor is expected to communicate professionally, collaborate effectively and foster a workplace grounded in accountability, respect and shared responsibility. The Chancellor performs duties delegated by the Senior Chancellor, Commissioner of Education, the State Board of Education, and the Florida Legislature.
