About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Chairperson, Pediatrics Department to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The mission of NYC Health + Hospitals is to provide comprehensive health services of the highest quality to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. This is a leadership opportunity for a seasoned Pediatrician to make a significant impact within the nation's largest public health system. As the Chairperson, Pediatrics for the unified Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx, you will help lead a robust clinical and academic engine. The Department serves as a primary teaching site for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and maintains a growing relationship with the City University of New York (CUNY). This high-level position reports directly to the facility Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer. The Department features an ACS Level II Pediatric Trauma Center at Jacobi Medical Center, on-site PICU, and a Level III NICU that supports both campuses. Extensive outpatient services at both sites and a dedicated inpatient unit at Jacobi Medical Center. Oversee the expansion of services following the construction of a new post-partum unit at Jacobi Medical Center, which is expected to increase delivery volume. Actively address healthcare disparities in the Bronx and Westchester. Ensure dignity is at the forefront of every patient interaction.

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Active New York State Medical License.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience required.
  • Eligible for Associate Professor academic title.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pediatric services across NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx campuses, overseeing approximately 100 full-time, part-time, and sessional Physician providers.
  • Oversee 44 Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Oversee 45 Pediatric Residents and 7 Pediatric Fellows.
  • Assist PAGNY in recruiting and retaining sufficient staff to meet the needs of our patients including 24 x 7 x 365 coverage.
  • Support an independent Pediatric Residency Program based at Jacobi Medical Center.
  • Oversee the expansion of services following the construction of a new post-partum unit at Jacobi Medical Center, which is expected to increase delivery volume.
  • Actively address healthcare disparities in the Bronx and Westchester.
  • Ensure dignity is at the forefront of every patient interaction.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $375,000 - $459,304 based on 40-hour work week.
  • The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $451,000 - $535,304, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
