About The Position

This is an internal position. Only tenured faculty in the Department of Biology are eligible to apply. The Chair of the Department of Biology serves as the administrative leader of the department. They are responsible for faculty hiring, faculty review and development, composite construction, curriculum development, operations, facilities, and budget management and oversight, staff supervision, supporting student success activities, as well as representing the department in admissions and recruitment, and a range of other duties and responsibilities necessary to the administration of the department. The teaching load for this appointment is generally one three-credit course per semester. Adjustments to this teaching load may be considered to support major projects and initiatives and must be approved by the dean. Requirements

Tenured, Associate or Professor in the Department of Biology
Sustained commitment to academic and inclusive excellence as demonstrated by effective teaching, scholarship, and service.
Ability to manage many complex, time sensitive projects independently, carefully and efficiently.
Sustained record of service to the department, CAS, and UD community
