About The Position
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst is seeking an accomplished academic leader as Chair of Ambulatory Care to provide strategic vision, oversee clinical operations and foster research/education excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated physician interested in working with an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population in a dynamic and supportive academic setting. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Requirements
- MD/DO degree
- Board certified in Internal Medicine
- Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
- Demonstrated administrative and leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical/academic setting
Responsibilities
- Driving patient volume, ensuring high-quality care and mentoring faculty/medical residents/medical students, reporting directly to the Senior Associate Dean/Chief Medical Officer
- Responsible for developing and implementing departmental goals, policies and budgetary management
- Enhance subspecialty access and improve quality metrics; advance research output and mentor staff; and oversee all operations and services for the department
