About The Position
The Department of Sport Management at Rice University invites applications for a Full Professor who will serve as Department Chair, beginning July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will lead the department, conduct exceptional research, and teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses. Candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership and service at the department, school, university, or discipline level, along with outstanding teaching and research excellence. Rice’s Department of Sport Management has ranked #1 in Niche’s “Best Colleges for Sports Management in America” for each of the past eight years. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Analytics, and a Master of Data Science with a Sport Analytics specialization. Rice University is a private comprehensive research university in Houston, Texas, with undergraduate and graduate programs across eight schools and approximately 5,000 undergraduate and 4,200 graduate students. Requirements
- Ph.D. in Sport Management, Sport Analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of leadership and service at the department, school, university, or discipline level.
