About The Position

The purpose of the role is to provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions. In this role, you will have the chance to act as a liaison and trusted advisor to global business, driving financial insight, governance, and control excellence. You will be responsible for leading financial planning processes (including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategy), while ensuring the integrity of financial information and regulatory reporting. You will deliver actionable analysis and metrics to senior management, support major planning exercises such as stress testing, and partner with business heads on strategic initiatives and new product approvals. Additionally, you will oversee risk and control frameworks, resolve complex issues, and champion process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

  • Familiarity with Liquid Financing, specifically Prime Brokerage, Equity and Fixed Income Financing , Clearing and Electronic high/low touch execution businesses including trade flows and controls knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.
  • Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders.
  • Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.
  • Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.
  • Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes.
