We are currently searching for a CFD Analyst- Mechanical Engineer to sit in either our Milwaukee WI or Herndon VA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
  • 3 year of relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Building Mechanical Systems
  • Ability to perform quality work within deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and using CFD analysis software (FloEFD, STAR CCM+, Fluent, FDS, OpenFOAM, 6SigmaRoom)
  • Familiarity with software development for writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ and Java
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills, planning & organizing skills, decision making and time management skill
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly communicate research findings through presentations and reports
  • Strong drive for results and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CFD tools to solve physics-based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, thermal comfort, contaminant dispersion and condensation controls
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities by developing and improving best practices, automating processes, and streamlining workflows
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant computational fluids research in the building mechanical field with proactive research
  • Documentation, reporting, and making technical presentations of engineering solutions to design teams and clients
  • Work independently while communicating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project managers
