About The Position

Aquatech is seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for its Hartland, WI office. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and compliance of water and process technology solutions, supporting the company's mission to address water scarcity and promote sustainability. The inspector will be responsible for various quality assurance tasks, including documentation, inspections, and supplier surveillance, contributing to projects that help clients achieve their operational and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, a problem-solver, technically knowledgeable, and a team player, with a strong understanding of welding codes and quality management principles.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Five (5) years of related experience is required.
  • A current CWI certification is required.
  • Experience inspecting piping, pressure vessels and structural fabrications to the above mentioned codes.
  • Experience with supplier surveillance and the review of quality documentation such as WPS/PQRs, NDE reports and material certificates.
  • Must be able to read fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications.
  • Must be able to read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding requirements.
  • Requires knowledge of ASME Sections V, VIII/IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1 codes.
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into project quality plans and I&TPs.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Valid driver license is required.
  • Valid Passport is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum Technical, Welding or Quality related higher education is preferred.
  • NDE and Auditor Certifications are a plus.
  • Supervisory experience, Quality Auditing, Quality Management, or ISO 9001:2015 experience.

Responsibilities

  • Track and ensure closure of all nonconformities.
  • Submit required project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to the customer in a timely and complete manner.
  • Review contract documents and applicable job specifications (Turnover Packages).
  • Assure that customer requirements for projects are met or that exceptions are taken as necessary.
  • Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Inspect pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications to applicable codes.
  • Assure project quality requirements are met and properly documented.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal Project Teams on a daily basis.
