About The Position

The Certified Welder position involves working from verbal instructions, blueprints, drawings, and work orders to set up equipment, prepare surfaces, and weld parts. This role requires the ability to perform all functions of a basic and advanced welder classification, utilize hand tools such as grinders, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. The position also includes responsibilities such as maintaining inventory, following safety procedures, training basic welders, and reporting accidents immediately. Requirements

Must pass required ASME welding test in 6G position.
Must be able to read blueprints and layouts part to prints.
Must have basic math skills.
Must have good hand/eye coordination.
Work involves stooping and bending.
Must have mig/tig experience.
Must be able to demonstrate good welding ability with minimal training.

Responsibilities

Work from verbal instructions/blueprints/drawings and or work orders.
Setup equipment/prepare surfaces to be welded/weld parts.
Must be able to use hand tools such as grinders, etc.
Must be able to perform all functions of the basic and advanced welder classification.
May perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
Keep work area clean, neat and orderly.
Maintain inventory of parts used in area.
Follow all safety rules, policies and procedures.
Train basic welders.
Must report all accidents/injuries to department supervisor immediately.
