About The Position

Our Certified Welders hold us together – literally. Our welders thrive on the opportunity to fabricate new solutions and repair existing mill process components and infrastructure. They keep our business running and do so in a way that keeps our employees and equipment safe. We’re looking for a Certified Welder to join our EcoLogo-certified facility located in Armstrong, British Columbia. Our Armstrong Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces 234 million board feet every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Requirements

• Experienced Level 3/A-level Welder with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Certified Pressure welder.
• Commitment to working safely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.

Nice To Haves

• Fabricator endorsement
• Millwright experience
• Previous experience in a forest products environment

Responsibilities

• Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Apply your knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues.
• Complete the lay-out, fitting and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, platforms, handrails, machine guarding and piping.
• Repair metal components and infrastructure using gas, arc-air, MIG, TIG and electrode as required.
• Read blueprints and interpret OEM maintenance information to complete work to mill standards.
