About The Position

Plum Creek Regional Animal Medical Center is a well-established, progressive three-doctor small animal practice with a nearby outpatient clinic, offering a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. For over 25 years, we’ve proudly maintained AAHA accreditation, reflecting our commitment to high-quality veterinary care! We provide comprehensive services including wellness and preventive care, urgent and illness care, surgery, endoscopy, acupuncture, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasonography, as well as boarding and grooming—allowing us to deliver complete care in one place. Located just east of Crete, Illinois, near the Indiana border, our main hospital is supported by an outpatient clinic only 7.8 miles away in Dyer, Indiana. This dual-location setup offers variety while maintaining continuity through shared records and clients. With easy access to Chicago and Northwest Indiana, our location combines small-town charm with convenient access to shopping, dining, and recreation. Requirements

  • A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required
  • 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work some Saturday shifts
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

Nice To Haves

  • active students or recent graduates from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program
  • additional skills in dental radiography being a plus

Responsibilities
