About The Position

Central Hospital for Animals is a full-service wellness clinic located in Carbondale, Illinois. The clinic offers wellness care, dentistry, and routine surgeries for dogs, cats, and exotic pets, supported by a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for on-site laboratory work. The team utilizes evidence-based medicine to help pet owners make informed decisions. Additionally, the hospital features a full-service grooming salon. The Certified Veterinary Technician role involves a range of duties from animal restraint and patient triage to diagnostic imaging, nursing care for hospitalized cases, medication administration, client communication, surgical preparation, and anesthetic management. Requirements

A certified veterinary technician
A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
Saturday availability
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Nice To Haves

1+ years experience preferred but not required
Proficient in positioning for dental radiographs are a plus

Responsibilities
