About The Position
Central Hospital for Animals is an AAHA-accredited practice with over forty-five years of experience providing high-quality veterinary services to southern Illinois. We specialize in dentistry, preventative care, reproductive medicine, and exotic pets. Our facility is equipped with the latest innovations, including in-house laboratory and pharmacy services, and we are a referral site for orthopedic and joint repair surgeries. Our goal is to ensure the pets of Marion live happy, healthy lives. Our operating hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with availability required for some Saturdays from 8am-12pm. Full-time and Part-time positions are available.
Requirements
- A certified veterinary technician
- 1+ years experience preferred but not required
- A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
- Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
- Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
- Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
- Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
- Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
- Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
- Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
- Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
