About The Position

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in Central Point, Oregon. Experienced CVT preferred but willing to train the right person! Proudly serving Central Point and the surrounding community since 2009, we are preparing to reopen after a temporary closure. This is a unique opportunity to join a hospital that is starting fresh with a renewed focus on team medicine, high-quality patient care, and utilizing technicians to their full potential. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) in Oregon required – or ability to obtain/transfer license within 3 months of hire
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced CVT preferred
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred
  • 3 years’ experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Perform basic exam procedures
  • Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
  • Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting
  • Confident with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, recovery)
  • Perform medical math, accurately calculate, draw up and administer drugs
  • Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines
  • Excellent client communication/education
  • Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation
