About The Position

Lakeside Spears Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate veterinary services in the Carbondale area. They offer care for routine visits and urgent situations, ensuring pets are treated with patience and kindness. The hospital is seeking motivated and talented professionals to join their team of highly-trained veterinarians and technicians. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with general practice appointments closed on weekends. The role involves a variety of duties including animal restraint, patient triage, laboratory work, diagnostic imaging, medical and hospitalized case management, medication administration, client communication, surgical assistance, and anesthetic management. The position offers opportunities for career growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required
Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
