About The Position

Focused Post Acute Care Partners (FPACP) is seeking a Certified Transportation Aide - CNA to join their team in Fort Stockton, TX. Requirements

  • Must have a current CNA certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written instructions in English
  • Must hold a currently valid driver's license as required by the state
  • Must have an excellent driving record as verified by the state Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Must be reliable and capable of working independently
  • Must remain calm in case of emergency
  • High school diploma or equivalency degree

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-emergency transport of residents by accommodating wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers.
  • Offer safe custom transportation for medical appointments and treatments.
  • Ensure resident safety during transport.
  • Visually inspect the van for any defects and/or vehicle damage before starting trips.
  • Check operating systems: Brakes, horn, windshield wipers, lights, first-aid kits, emergency flashers, and door-opening devices for proper operation.
  • Validate registration and inspection stickers for the vehicle are state compliant.
  • Certify the working condition of the cellular phone.
  • Provide assistance required for boarding of the patient and any caregiver.
  • Ensure wheelchair and passenger are properly secured before starting the van.
  • Assist patients in leaving the van and reaching proper offices or treatment areas upon arrival at the medical facility.
  • Inspect the van to ensure that no personal items have been left behind.
  • Provide first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport.
  • Immediately notify emergency personnel and supervisor if skilled assistance is required.
  • Complete report at the end of the day's run.
  • Report traffic accidents immediately to a supervisor, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.
  • Assist injured persons from the first-aid kit until emergency services arrive.
  • Complete company accident report.
  • Report to the supervisor for assignments when not transporting residents.
  • Promote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests.
  • Use tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to dress code at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
