About The Position
The purpose of this salaried, exempt CTRS position is to promote a therapeutic environment for all residents by assessing recreational preferences, creating and implementing innovative group and individualized recreation programming, maintaining timely documentation, and enhancing quality of life through individualized person-centered interventions. This role involves understanding and promoting Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and ensuring their application with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy
- Certification in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy
- One year experience
- Experience working with physically and cognitively challenged children preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead group and individual activities
- Maintain and record quarterly and annual progress reports
- Keep daily statistics
- Complete initial resident assessment
- Assist in decorating of facility for holidays and events
- Assist in the selection, planning and implementation of special events
- Maintain supplies in an orderly and safe manner
- Assist in selection and ordering of supplies
- Attend plan of care and physiatry meetings
- Attend in service training sessions
- Perform any duties relevant to the function of the department
- Maintain flexible work schedule to assist in needed situations or emergencies
- Act as an instructor for recreation students and provide all necessary supervision/hands on experience in order to complete and fulfill fieldwork assignment
- Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator
