About The Position

The Obstetrical Technician provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse. The technician demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures. The role is responsible for performing as a primary scrub person, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during obstetrical procedures while applying principles of sterile technique. The Obstetrical Technician contributes to expected patient outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CST certification.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• NBSTSA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and Registered Nurse.
• Select, assemble, test, and operate equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Perform as a primary scrub person during obstetrical procedures, handling necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment while applying sterile technique.
• Contribute to expected patient outcomes.
