The Certified Technician is responsible for safety, quality work associated with Get Ready, and Refurbishment activities to all WS products. The Certified Technician is expected to fully comply with all WillScot policies and all relevant WS regulations. Success in this role will be dependent on the ability to conduct branch operations activities in a safe, cost-efficient, and high-quality manner.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess valid EPA Universal Certification
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Some knowledge of computers is necessary and good communications skills are required for dealing with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel as well as WillScot employees at various branch locations
  • Must have knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC
  • If performing trade related duties, must have knowledge and experience with applicable equipment and must hold appropriate licenses as required by law

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge and/or experience working within a warehouse
  • Flexibility to work variety of environments from indoor office settings, outdoors, customer construction sites, to branch shop
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (i.e., computer, phone, photocopier, fax, email, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Acts in accordance with WillScot Safety, Transportation, and Environmental Policies
  • Leads and acts to promote employee health and safety results through creating a safer workplace, DuPont STOP™, training and observations, and regularly scheduled assessments of the branch
  • Attends periodic safety meetings
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • If applicable to the position: operates company vehicle safely and maintains a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record free from points
  • Ensures that trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates with high 1st time quality, and within established accuracy parameters +/- 10%
  • Performs repairs, and modifications (where applicable), to all products to include framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and all other facets of modular building repair
  • Performs certified trades work on units on at least one of the following: plumbing, electrical, carpentry
  • Maintains proper inventory levels of all equipment, tools, and materials required to complete daily service tasks
  • Performs service-related tasks in the yard, as requested by the Branch Operations Leader/Production Supervisor, to include check-in/out (off/on rent) inspections of off rented buildings by physically inspecting to determine repair scope of work, as well as damages for invoicing the customer. Create floor plan drawings as needed and relocate fleet units within the branch lot
  • Performs HVAC system checks and maintenance per company guidelines
  • May be assigned all duties pertaining to Field Service Tech (see JD) as business dictates
  • Uses Net Promoter System (NPS) to provide timely correspondence and to address internal issues
  • Ensure On Time in Full Deliveries and Returns
  • Drives high levels of product quality (<60 day call & First Time Quality)
  • Conduct service calls in branch territories as assigned.
  • Closes up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are secured on the idle fleet.
  • Assists in ordering materials and unloading material deliveries
  • Forklift operations
  • Office maintenance and repair as assigned
  • Provides training and direction to other service personnel to ensure standard work instructions, best practices, work orders, timesheets, and company guidelines are followed
