About The Position

The Certified Teacher Interventionist will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, and utilizing assessment data to form intervention groups. This role involves implementing best practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum materials to address the learning needs of identified students. The interventionist will also model intervention strategies for teachers, analyze student achievement data, administer assessments, and provide professional development on intervention strategies. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress is key, as is maintaining accurate student records and progress data. The position requires attending professional development to enhance instructional strategies and support the intervention program. This role also involves coordinating data collection related to MTSS, providing Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention lessons with fidelity, and reviewing cases for ESE eligibility. Collaboration on MTSS paperwork and preparation for intervention groups with approved resources are also essential. The interventionist will attend data-based problem-solving meetings, MTSS meetings, and parent meetings focused on the students served, and work with the MTSS Coordinator to ensure MTSS packets are ready for ESE eligibility meetings. The role may also include other tasks assigned by the Principal.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent with Florida Teacher Certification.
Knowledgeable and experienced with the MTSS process.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience preferred.
Reading Endorsement or Reading Certification preferred for working with Tier 3 reading groups.

Responsibilities

Gather, organize, and interpret assessment data to determine intervention groups.
Utilize best practice instructional strategies and CSA approved research-based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified students.
Model the use of intervention strategies to general and special education teachers.
Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of students.
Provide professional development on intervention strategies.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, building administrator, and parents about student progress.
Maintain accurate student records, parent communication records and student progress data reports as required.
Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies and support researched-based resource material needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support/maintain professional growth.
Keep records of lesson plans, and records of students’ performance.
Coordinate data collection as it relates to MTSS.
Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention lessons with fidelity.
Review cases in preparation (MTSS packet) for determining eligibility for ESE services.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administrators on completion of MTSS paperwork to reflect student’s progress.
Be prepared for all intervention groups with CSA approved resources that match the student’s intervention plans.
Attend all data-based problem-solving meetings, MTSS meetings and parent meetings that are focused on the students you serve.
Works with MTSS Coordinator Kerin Casey to ensure MTSS packets are ready prior to ESE eligibility meetings.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time-to-time assign.
