About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist is an essential member of the perioperative team, working collaboratively to ensure the success of patient procedures. The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing the operating/procedural room, ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and supplies, and supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure. The Certified Surgical Technologist performs their specific roles and duties with high standards, to create an atmosphere that maximizes patient care outcomes, improving customer service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization and decreasing costs. The Certified Surgical Technologist reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. The Certified Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The Certified Surgical Technologist understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the surgeon’s needs. The Certified Surgical Technologist has expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques and is constantly on vigil for maintaining the sterile field.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or possess GED preferred
  • Must have completed formal Surgical Technology Training Program
  • Must hold CST or TS-C Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating/procedural room
  • Ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and supplies
  • Supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure
  • Perform specific roles and duties with high standards to maximize patient care outcomes, improve customer service levels, reduce the length of hospitalization and decrease costs
  • Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
  • Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the surgeon’s needs
  • Maintain the sterile field
