About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment needed by the surgical team. The role supports safe procedures through aseptic technique, complete case preparation, and assistance with preparation and cleanup of the operating room and instruments.

Requirements

• Associate degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Certification through one of the following: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA), Tech in Surgery–Certified (TS-C), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). TS-C is not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati.
• Registered Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with the Virginia Board of Medicine if currently residing in Virginia.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Prepare for cases and adapt to the need for special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin preparation and clipping as indicated by the procedure.
