About The Position

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience in cardiovascular or CVOR surgical settings
- Strong understanding of cardiac instrumentation and procedures
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Scrub and assist during cardiac surgeries in accordance with AORN and AST standards
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are available
- Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments
- Assist with case cart preparation, room turnover, and supply management
- Update surgeon preference cards and support inventory control processes
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
- Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance
