The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will assist in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics. This role involves assisting with stocking the unit (rooms and supplies), attending vaginal deliveries, and preoperatively assisting the RN circulator in formulating a plan of care. The CST will also assist in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assume responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Post-operatively, the CST will follow proper procedures for the care of instruments, supplies, and equipment, and under supervision, assist the RN circulator with post-operative duties. Additionally, the CST will assist in delivering nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of infection and accidental contamination. This position is PRN, nights, at Texas Health Allen in the Mom/Baby Department, which features a Level II Maternal Designation with Level II NICU, a Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist Based Model, 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, and 2 Operating Rooms, with 40-45 deliveries per month.
