About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Waxahachie is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join their team. This role involves scrubbing for surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and preparing necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment. The Surgical Technologist will function as a member of the surgical team, supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center, and participating in quality improvement activities. The position offers a work-life balance with weekdays only, no holidays, weekends, nights, or on-call responsibilities. Baylor Surgicare Waxahachie is a joint venture with USPI, accredited by The Joint Commission, and features advanced facilities with 3 Operating Rooms and 2 Treatment Rooms, serving specialties such as Colon & Rectal Surgery, ENT, Gastroenterology, and Orthopedics.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certification as required by state
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.
Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.
Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to surgical procedures.
Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center.
Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
