About The Position

The OR Certified Surgical Technologist is a critical member of the Operating Room Team who performs a variety of technical skills in support of the surgeon during cases. The Surgical technologist is an autonomous skilled individual who is competent in a variety of specialties and scrubs in surgical/diagnostic procedure(s) under the direction of a registered professional nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate of Operating Room Technician Program or its equivalent.
• Certification as Surgical Technician.
• BCLS certification.
• One (1) year experience as Operating Room Technician or demonstrated ability to perform operative case scrub experience.
• Must demonstrate understanding of sterility.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of technical skills in support of the surgeon during cases.
• Scrub in surgical/diagnostic procedure(s) under the direction of a registered professional nurse.
