Requirements
- Basic Computer skills required.
- Two years of experience in a surgical setting, required.
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required.
- Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado (or a person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration).
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.

Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
- Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
- Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
- Scrub on all cases including Gen, Ortho (trauma), Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, Trauma, and OB/GYN.
- Provide specialized support for Cardiac and Neuro teams.
- Assist with cross-training for all other services.
- Give breaks and/or provide additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
- Assist with room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
- Maintain sterile field during procedures.
- Hand instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
- Maintain and update preference cards.
