About The Position

Come join the Nursing Support team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities. Position Purpose: Functions as a professional under the direct and continuous supervision of qualified professional registered nurses and in accordance with established procedures and aseptic principles functions as a first scrub/scrub assistant in selected cases to render quality service to patients of all ages and surgeons during operative procedures.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
Certified CST from NBSTSA
BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
New Requirement as of 10/1/2023, uncertified Techs have 18 months to provide proof of certification.
THOfNE gives 1 chance to pass licensure exam.
On-Call- Weekend and Holidays (Required)

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment.
Assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment; transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients.
Reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee and contributes to the efficient and productive operations of the Operating Room.
Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.
