Certified Surgical Technologist - Day Surgery Center Operating Room
About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist - Day Surgery Center Operating Room position is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, with hours from 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday. This role does not require any travel. The primary responsibilities include identifying and obtaining necessary surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies based on physician requests and patient needs, and exchanging drug trays under the direction of licensed medical staff. The technologist will inspect, care for, and handle surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately, perform scrub responsibilities according to physician preference and hospital policies, and anticipate the surgeon's needs during procedures. A key aspect of this role is demonstrating the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients of all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved surgical technology program
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience

Responsibilities
- Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.
- Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
- Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures.
- Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
- Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.
