About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join their Surgery department. This is a full-time position with a rotating shift schedule, requiring holiday, weekend, and call coverage. A 30-minute response time from the hospital is required. Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in open heart, vascular, robotics and orthopedic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a sterile environment by arranging specialized instruments, drapes, and solutions for surgical procedures.
• Provide correct instruments and supplies to the surgeon in real-time.
• Assist with patient positioning, transporting, and draping to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Organize and track instrument counts throughout the surgery to ensure procedural accuracy.
