About The Position

This is a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist position in the Operating Room at Texas Health Fort Worth. The role involves intra-operative skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcomes, assisting in coordinating patient care peri-operatively, and assuming responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. The technologist will assist in providing peri-operative care for infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, and preoperatively assist the RN circulator in formulating a plan of care. Post-operatively, the technologist will follow proper procedures for the care of instruments, supplies, and equipment, and under supervision, assist the RN circulator with post-operative duties. Texas Health Fort Worth is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the Fort Worth community since 1930, offering advanced care in various specialties and holding certifications as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level I Trauma Center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009
  • Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon hire
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a healthcare facility before September 1,2009 Or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology within 2 years of hire Or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon hire
  • 1 Year of current operating room experience
