About The Position
The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for assigned procedures, maintains the sterile field during cases, and provides surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments. The position is per diem and based in Lewiston, Maine, with a day shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, required for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate of an ORT training program, or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience is preferred.
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
- Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neuro, ENT, and urology.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
