About The Position

This role involves assisting in surgical procedures competently and professionally, ensuring the proper handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and guaranteeing their availability for surgical procedures. The Certified Surgical Tech will also scrub for surgical procedures and perform duties as assigned by a registered nurse. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accepted course in surgical technology certification
  • Certification in Surgical Technology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good time management skills and ability to be self directed
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting
  • Basic analytical experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in procedures competently and professionally
  • Ensure appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
  • Scrub for surgical procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the registered nurse (RN)
  • Perform direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the department
  • Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training, and credentials
  • Adapt to change in a positive constructive manner
  • Ensure cleanliness and/disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures
