Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Responsibilities

Provide safe and effective patient care through the performance of specific duties as the Certified Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse.
Perform routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery.
Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment for all.
Keep current on operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment.
Assist with the ongoing Performance improvement Program.
Assist with annual performance evaluations and competencies.
