About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, TX. The position is full-time, with a night shift schedule from Monday to Wednesday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. It also includes a monthly call requirement and holiday call commitment. The role involves preparing surgical suites, anticipating and handing instruments to the surgeon, facilitating patient preparation and positioning, maintaining and tracking surgical instruments, and ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures through teamwork and adherence to sterile protocols.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Prepare surgical suites with sterile drapes, solutions, and the appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies to ensure a safe environment.
Anticipate and swiftly hand required or requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon throughout the surgical procedure.
Facilitate the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients to maintain comfort and surgical access.
Maintain all surgical instruments in an organized manner while rigorously monitoring and tracking instruments to ensure patient safety.
Facilitate the overall safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures through proactive teamwork and strict adherence to sterile protocols.
